What is BookGroup?
BookGroup is the literary world of those who write, publish, promote, and read. It is a platform of groups and subgroups: you read the digital book with other people, annotate the paragraph, and discuss in the text. At the Emporium you buy the print book. On the blog, publishers and independent authors share news.
What is the difference between a digital book and a print book?
The digital book is what you read in the group, in the browser or the app, with notes and discussion in the text. The print book is the physical volume sold at the Emporium. Many titles exist on both paths; the book page points to both when they are available.
How do I join on a phone?
On iPhone, reading opens in the browser. On Android, reading is the app on the Google Play Store — there is no mobile web version of the app on that system. This site, the Emporium, and the blog stay open on any device.
How do I create an account?
There is no password. Enter your email, receive a code, and sign in. On Android, install the app from Play Store and sign in there. Authors and publishers can also start from the publishing page, with a link sent by email.
Is reading paid?
Joining groups, reading digital books in the catalog, and discussing the text is free for readers. Publishers, authors, and creators subscribe to plans to publish and run content. Some groups charge access — that belongs to that group, not to the platform subscription.
