Publishing Center and Creator Studio on BookGroup

What is the Creator Studio on BookGroup and who has access to it?

Users with BookGroup Premium see the Creator Studio on the home screen instead of the standard reader view: a management panel with pending actions (join requests and unread messages across your groups), quick indicators for active readers, messages, and subgroups, a list of your groups with engagement metrics, an AI shortcut for questions about your community, and your own personal reading tucked into a secondary section, collapsed by default. It's the entry point to all the community management tools described below.

What is the Portfolio on BookGroup and what does it show?

If you have more than one group, the Portfolio brings them all together on a single screen: the total number of members across all your groups, how many groups you have, and, for each one, direct shortcuts to that group's Community, CRM, and Messages. If you only have one group, the consolidated summary doesn't appear — just the list.

What are Audiences in the group CRM, and how do I create one?

In the group CRM, an Audience is a set of members filtered by reading behavior — for example, "All members", "Stopped reading", "Not started", "Reading now", "New (7 days)", or "Highly engaged". To create one, give it a name, an optional description, and pick one of these filters; BookGroup automatically calculates how many members fall into that segment. Audiences exist so you can target message campaigns to a specific group of readers, instead of addressing everyone at once.

How do I create a message campaign for my group on BookGroup?

In the group CRM's Campaigns tab, the process has three steps: first you name the campaign and choose the audience (if you don't pick one, it goes to all members); then you write the subject and body of the message; finally you review everything before sending. The campaign shows up in the list with a status (draft, sending, active, completed, or failed) and, once completed, shows how many messages were sent and opened, with a button to see the full report.

What does the Members tab in the Community Hub show about each reader?

Unlike the simple member list inside a group's page, here each reader shows up with relationship metrics: an engagement indicator (highly engaged, engaged, lightly engaged, or no activity — calculated from reading progress and participation in messages and public annotations), reading status (reading, paused, completed, not started), a progress bar, counts of comments and shared passages, and the date they joined. From here you can also send a direct message to any member or open their profile.

How do I send a notice to all members of a group through the Community Hub?

On the Community Hub's Messages tab, tap "New notice", write a title and message body, and confirm sending. Unlike a regular conversation, this notice goes out to every member of the group at once — it's the same broadcast mechanism available on the group's messages screen, just accessed from here.

What are Segments in the Community Hub?

Segments are the same reading-behavior slices as Audiences (all, reading now, stopped reading, not started, new, highly engaged), but shown as a quick visual panel, with the member count in each category — no need to save anything. Tapping a segment filters the Members tab by it right away. To actually send a campaign, you still need to create a real Audience in the advanced CRM, which has a direct link from here.

What are Automations on BookGroup, and what types exist?

Automations are messages BookGroup sends on its own to a group's members, triggered by an event — not by you manually hitting "send". The four available types are: welcome new member (triggers when someone joins the group), re-engage stalled readers (triggers when a member goes more than 7 days without reading), progress milestone congratulations (triggers at 25%, 50%, 75%, and 100% reading milestones), and encourage reading start (triggers when a member starts reading the group's book). To create one, pick one of these templates, customize the name, subject, and message, and confirm — the default texts come pre-filled, but they can be edited.

What is Cross-promo between my groups on BookGroup?

Cross-promo lets you show, within one group, which of your other groups appear as "next reads" and "read also" suggestions for people reading there. "Next reads" are chosen and ordered manually by you, up to 10 groups; "read also" can be automatic (BookGroup suggests your groups with shared tags) or chosen manually, up to 5 groups. These suggestions show up as a bar at the top of the group's page for readers. This is different from BookGroup Ads: here you only promote your own other groups, at no cost.

What does a campaign report show on BookGroup?

A campaign's report shows a full delivery funnel: total recipients, how many were sent, delivered, opened, clicked, how many replied, how many bounced, and how many failed — each with the absolute number and the percentage of the total. Below the funnel, there's a list of recent events per recipient, with the event type and exact time.

How does BookGroup Ads work?

BookGroup Ads lets you create campaigns to promote one of your groups within the platform itself — you give the campaign a title and choose which group you want to promote. Each campaign has a status (draft, active, paused, or expired), and active campaigns can be paused whenever you want. You can also create creatives separately: an internal title, the headline shown in the ad, an optional description, the image, and the destination link. Ads show up as a block marked "Sponsored" on other groups' pages within BookGroup.

What is the "Active Readers" page, and how is it different from a group's member list?

"Active Readers" brings together, in a single list, everyone who's part of any of your groups — if the same person is in three of your groups, they show up once, with a note of which groups they're in. It's a simple contact list, with search by name, without the engagement and reading-progress metrics that appear on a specific group's Members tab in the Community Hub.

How do my earnings and payout requests work on BookGroup?

The "My Earnings" screen shows three amounts: available balance, pending balance, and the accumulated total, plus a detailed history of each entry (direct commission, cascade commission, net revenue, platform fee, past payouts). To request a payout, tap "Request" — BookGroup checks whether you've reached the minimum amount required to withdraw and tells you whether the request was accepted, and why; the button stays disabled if your available balance is zero.
